Elle contribue \u00e0 la diminution du risque de r\u00e9cidive du cancer. Elle peut \u00e9galement \u00eatre utilis\u00e9e pour traiter un cancer qui est r\u00e9apparu apr\u00e8s le traitement ou qui s\u2019est propag\u00e9. L\u2019hormonoth\u00e9rapie est administr\u00e9e aux jeunes femmes atteintes de cancers hormono-sensibles ou hormono-d\u00e9pendants afin de ralentir ou arr\u00eater la croissance du cancer. Le traitement anticanc\u00e9reux peut ralentir ou arr\u00eater la croissance des cellules canc\u00e9reuses de deux mani\u00e8res :    <\/p><ol><li>en abaissant les niveaux d\u2019hormones dans le corps,<\/li><li>en r\u00e9duisant la capacit\u00e9 des cellules canc\u00e9reuses \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre aux hormones, et ainsi arr\u00eater leur croissance.<\/li><\/ol><p>Certaines d\u2019entre elles sont les m\u00eames hormones que celles qui sont requises pour la fertilit\u00e9. Le traitement peut affecter votre capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 concevoir et \u00e0 avoir un b\u00e9b\u00e9. Les hormones peuvent rendre vos r\u00e8gles irr\u00e9guli\u00e8res ou les arr\u00eater compl\u00e8tement. Elles peuvent revenir quelques mois apr\u00e8s l\u2019arr\u00eat du traitement. L\u2019hormonoth\u00e9rapie elle-m\u00eame n\u2019endommage pas les ovaires, vos r\u00e8gles devraient donc revenir quelques mois apr\u00e8s l\u2019avoir arr\u00eat\u00e9e. Si vos r\u00e8gles ne reviennent pas apr\u00e8s l\u2019hormonoth\u00e9rapie, cela peut \u00eatre d\u00fb aux effets d\u2019autres traitements tels que la chimioth\u00e9rapie que vous auriez pu avoir.
